Peter Sabel – Heart and Soul Coaching
My name is Peter Sabel and I’m the founder of Heart and Soul Coaching. For over 25 years I’ve been working with individuals and organizations helping to build self care skills.
As good advice as it is, most of the information given about self care doesn’t really help. It focuses on things you should do, but doesn’t give a framework in which to understand what you are doing, or present different types of approaches you can use, or show how you can develop the skills you need. That why I have developed the Self Care Project.
Self care needs to meet us where we are at, in our humanness, rather than put on us just another expectation about how we should be. This website is my effort to bring together different ideas on self care and lots of useful skills.
Self care helps you to meet the pressures you are facing and builds resilience. Understandably, this is often where people begin their journey. What is really exciting is that self care is also a wonderful way to help experience life with much greater richness, to grow, and to thrive.
So a bit about me. I’m Peter Sabel and I’m a professional social workder with 29 years experience.  At the moment I live on  a beautiful country property in Northern NSW, but soon will be moving to Brisbane. I’ve done lot of crisis and truama counsellilng, as well as many years supervising counsellors and workers in the helping industries.
My two key interests are how do you learn, grow, and build excellence, and secondly, in the midst of the pressures and demands of work and life, how do you care for yourself. Both of these are about growing in yourself and opening up greater possibilities. It fascinates me as to how people do this differently.
I believe that how you are in yourself, your humanness, your clarity, your depth, your ability to respond from your strengths, are all central to your work. It provides the gold in what you do, and is the basis for meeting the challenges that are inevitably there.
